I started started playing capoeira in 1997 when the video game of " TEKKEN 3" came out and got my attention. I've always loved the martial Arts since the day I watched the a Martial Arts legend "BRUCE LEE" who inspired me into the martial arts.
I thought "My goodness", there's so many Martial arts styles out there, which one should is for me....Until one day I spotted a character in tekken 3 named EDDY GORDO. I really like the way he expresses his movements with the body so gracefully and amazing.. I then decided to check out Tekken 3's strategy guide to know what martial art he represented and sure enough it was the art of capoeira.
So I started out with traditional capoeria "ANGOLA" with a Mestre from boston "Mestre Doraldo Ferreira" in" GRUPO CAPOEIRA ANGOLA CAMARA". Then moved on after 3yrs to Capoeira "REGIONAL" With a group in Rhode Island called "GRUPO ONDAS" A Brazillian Cape verdian group and now here in florida with "Capoeira Brazilian Pelourinho"
Although Capoeira ANGOLA and REGIONAL are 2 different styles in capoeira, and with my experience with the 2 styles, I've always gone by like the philosphy of Mestre Suassuna which states " A Capoeirista must move like a chameleon" And must play whatever game is called by the berimbau and that is approriate to the context.
Besides capoeira, Im a B-BOY (Breakdancer) and go by the nick name "HOLYBREAKS"WHY?....Because, Im not only a capoeiraista and break-dancer, but a SOLDIER OF JESUS CHRIST representing the kingdom of GOD ALMIGHTY.
