FRANC MOM
My name is Elaine but at the academy they call me Mommy. I’m 38 years old and started Capoeira last September. I joined the academy to keep my children going in learning the art of Capoeira. Now we do it as a family activity. I love Capoeira for its multiple discipline. You learn to strengthen your body. You practice balance and dance. You learn movements of self-defense, of gymnastics and of dance all together. But because I am a piano teacher, what I love the most is that Capoeira the music. Eventually you get to learn how to play the instruments and sing. Our mestre Lazaro is not only our coach but also a social leader. For my family I find it important for my children to have a role model to respect outside the home or school. Respect of self and other they do learn form mestre lazaro. No matter how I feel, tired or sick, when I come to the academy I feel welcome, and understood. I learn to believe in my self and overcome my boundaries. (Mommy)
