Hey,
my nickname is "Maguelo" which means skinny, and I'm not going to
tell my real name because I would be braking a capoeira rule. I'm from Brazil,
Maceio/AL , since the first time that I saw capoeira, when I was only five years
old, I wanted to practice capoeira, there was one capoeira school to every block
in my city, but even though I never went to one of them, I was always playing
soccer and never had time but then I came to the United States two years ago
and at first it was all good and fun but then I started to miss Brazil a lot,
when I was almost going back to Brazil I went to one of Mestre's show, at that
moment I knew that I didn't need to go back to Brazil, I wanted to be part of
the academy, but I lived to far away and couldn't come because I had no car.,
about 8 months ago I moved to near by international Drive and heard that the
capoeira had moved near by too, so I went for it starting doing and never stopped
up to today, the academy is great, the Mestre is very good, some times he pushes
us to do more and I know that it is helping, so I'm very grateful. I go there
every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, I still have no car, I go and come back
everyday by bus, that is to show how much I love capoeira, I don't know what
I would do if I didn't go to Capoeira, most surely I would be back in Brazil.
I'm only going to stop practicing capoeira whenever God takes me out of this
world, and on my next life I'm sure that I will be a better "capoeira".
So I thank God, all my family from the academy and to Mestre Lazaro to give
me the opportunity to be part of the group "Capoeira Brazilian Pelourinho".
