Why do I love Capoeira? I love Capoeira because it makes me feel good on the inside and out. It makes me feel good when I look at my body. It makes me feel confident to know that I can defend myself. It challenges me to do things that I never thought I could do, and do them. It makes me a part of something bigger than myself. I am part of a family.

Because, you see, Capoeira is a revolution. Just like Bob Marley said, we are Burnin’ and Lootin’! Burning Calories, burning away our unwanted thoughts, desires, fears. Burning away the things in our lives that no longer serve us.

Mestre Lazaro Santos Da Bahia is the man! I used to think I was self-confident until I met Mestre. He is always teaching me new ways to overcome the Can’ts and replace them with “I will!”

He teaches me to believe in myself. He teaches me to Believe.

Capoeira is bigger than you or me. Capoeira is a revolution of the mind, through the body!
