We've ordered berimbau and they should be in soon. If you would like one, they are for sale on a first-come, first-serve basis at a cost of $65. These a good quality berimbau straight from Brazil.
We are planning to hold music classes Tuesday and Thursday nights once we have enough people with berimbau to form a class! If we sell out of the berimbau that are on their way already, we will be ordering more and we will make a pre-order list.

Everyone can start paying for Batizado now. The total of $250 should be payed at least a month before the Batizado, but it can be paid little by little, which is usually easier for most people.
Please make sure if Glaucia is not there, ask for a receipt for the money you give Mestre so I can make sure it goes into the right place.

We are having a Summer Camp for the kids starting on June 9th through August 15th. There are discounts for students and children of students of CBP (formados' classes included), so start spreading the word. More information to come once we have straightened out a few things :)

Dear Students: The New Year will be bringing changes to the Academy, in an effort to make things easier for all of us. Please be aware of the following: 1. Each student will be getting an id card that must be used to sign in to each class. All students must sign in before they are allowed to take the class. No exceptions. 2. In order to get the id cards done, we need a new, updated contract on file. If you do not have a valid contract, you will not be getting an id card, and that means you will not be allowed to take class. 3. Please note that you must pay for the total of classes you take per week. If you signed up for once a week but want to come more often, please let us know so that we can update your information. 4. All Students must come to class in CBP Uniform: Abada Pants, Shirt, and Cordel 5. Yellow cordels and up now have the option to take unlimited classes for $100 a month. 6. All previous verbal agreements and deals with Mestre will expire in January. If you are sure Mestre gave you a discount for whatever reason, we need to have that in writing and signed by both parties. 7. Please remember it is your academy too. It is where you practice Capoeira. Let’s help Mestre take care of it! Classes will be held at the "Tradional Martial Arts Center," located in West Orlando at 2220 Hempel Ave. Gotha, Florida 34787.

Tues/Thurs. 8:00pm-9:30pm all levels
Friday: 8:00pm OPEN RODA (location varies)
Saturday: 12:00pm-1:30pm Green/yellow cords only,
1:30pm-3:00pm all levels
Also, the "Traditional Martial Arts Center" is having a day of demonstrations by all the instructors with special offers and free give-aways, on Saturday, Feb. 2nd from 12:00pm-2:00pm.

The adults are organizing a "White Elephant" gift giving for the Christmas Party. Gifts should be anything from $15 to $20. Rules are posted at the wikipedia. Just do a search for White Elephant :) Since that game would create havoc among the kids, we are doing a regular Secret Santa for them. There will be a box at the academy on Tuesday were you can put your kids' name and age if they will be participating. We'll pick the names on Friday after class. I know that doesn't give much planning time, but we are looking for simple gifts $10 range. Remember, the Christmas Party is Saturday the 22nd at 7pm!! Please plan to bring food/ drinks and if you can, come help set-up on Thursday and Friday! ________________________________________ Also, anyone who has not filled out a contract, needs to see mestre and file one! We are switching to Folklore's Tracking Method to get things more organized. |
